Performances 2016 & 2017

Sunday 3rd December 2017 - This was the first time that we had performed at the Rochford Christmas lights and it was great! We were on stage quite early which meant that the audience was quite small but this didn't impact on our performance at all. The people of Rochford semed to enjoy us and we really do hope we are able to revisit next year!

Saturday 25th November 2017 - Hockley Christmas Lights is one of our favourite events and this year was no exception! We were the final act on the stage this evening meaning that the vast crowd were well and truly in the Christmas spirit. Starting with Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas" and ending on Shakin' Stevens "Merry Christmas Everyone" we felt thoroughly festive by the time we had finished. We are looking forward to next year already!

Saturday 18th November 2017 - Today we were delighted to be part of the Havens Helping Hands Christmas event today. It was our first performance this year of some Christmas songs so it was a very special event for us. And all in such a good cause - well done to Havens for another fantastic event.

Friday 10th November 2017 - This evening we visited the ladies of the WI in Thundersley, where we told them about what we do, performed some songs and then asked them to learn a song with us. They really were a lovely audience who seemed to throughly enjoy our visit. It was also a pleasure to take questions from them at the end. Thank you ladies - we had a great time!

Sunday 8th October 2017 - It was our big annual show today at The Freight House, Rochford where we performed 2 shows in front of approximately 350 people. Our thanks go to our guest speakers  who were Paul Newbury from Essex Deaf Children's Society and Sophie Alderton of Pholk. We truly had a wonderful time performing 15 songs for our audeinces and they were brilliant at joining in with us for the song "Keep On Movin" by Five (one of our favourites!). And the day ended perfectly when we totalled up £2110 of money raised and could split this equally between the 2 charities of Pholk and EDCS. And delighted that our fundraising now totals £21,451 in the 6 years that we have been together. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed in any way - we are so proud of this achievement.

Sunday 25th June 2017 -Today, 20 of the Hands 4 Voices choir were honoured to perform at the Little Havens Open Doors event today. A truly beautiful place where so many young people and their families are cared for. Little Havens raised a phenomonal amount of money today and we were delighted to play our small part in that. Thank you to all who came along to show their support.

Saturday 3rd June 2017 - A wonderful, if rather hot, time was had by us at the Hockley Wild Woods Day today. The sun really did shine down us as we performed 5 songs for the people of Hockley and surrounding areas. A lovely event to be a part of - must remember the sun cream next time!

Monday 22nd May 2017 - 19 of the Hands 4 Voices choir went along to GroveWood School in Rayleigh to perform for them in their Science week. It was wonderful to see all the children dressed up in their lab coats and sporting "nutty professor" hairstyles! A truly lovely group of children who joined in with the songs we performed for them and afterwards, we were delighted to take part in a question and answer session with them.

Saturday 11th March 2017 - Today was our road trip to the Albert Hall in Nottingham where we took part in the first ever UK National Signing Choir Compeition. It really was a wonderful day and so fantastic to see 14 other signing choirs perform. Whilst we didn't come in the top 3, we were delighted to receive such fantastic comments from the judges and will take them forward for the compeition to be held in May 2018. A really nerve wracking, but thoroughly enjoyable, day.

Sunday 11th December 2016 - Today was our big show day at The Freight House in Rochford. Two sold out audiences of a total of 360 tickets - thank you so much to all who came along. We had an amazing time and received such wonderful comments afterwards. I think that our rendition of "Don't Stop The Beat" drew the most gasps as we signed for our lives at such a fast song - but we loved it!  Finishing off with some lovely Christmas songs helped to get everyone into the festive spirit. And to top it all, we raised an amazing £2237 which has been split between the Essex Deaf Children's Society and The Megacentre Rayleigh. Thank you so much if you came along - it was a wonderful way for us to finish our amazing year.

Wednesday 7th December 2016 - It was a pleasure to perform at the Megacentre Rayleigh this afternoon. As this is one of our chosen charities this year, it was lovely to meet some of the people that we are supporting and to be able to show them what we do. A lovely audience who felt very Christmassy by the time we left!

Saturday 3rd December 2016 - We enjoyed our annual visit to Sainsbury, Canvey Island today. Performing for an hour with lots of well known (and some not so well known!) Christmas songs, helped to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. And all whilst helping them to raise funds for their chosen charity this year.

Sunday 18th September 2016 - Our final performance in this very busy month! Today we took part in a lovely event held at Priory Park in Southend-On-Sea. Unfortunately, due to an "admin hiccup" by the organisers, we appeared on stage almost 1 1/4 hours after our scheduled time. We were so grateful that so many of our followers came to see us and even more grateful that so many stayed to watch us. Despite the long wait, we had a wonderful time performing for everyone.

Saturday 10th September 2016 - Despite a very wet and windy day, we were pleased to be able to perform at the Havens Open Day in Westcliff. We were a little windswept by the end but all in a good cause!

Sunday 4th September 2016 - Today we performed at one our smaller events which took place at the Leigh allotment. It was lovely to be part of their open day and to be able to donate to their fundraising.

Sunday 26th June 2016 - We were so pleased to perform at the Little Havens Open Day today. Despite some dark clouds, the rain stayed away and we were able to perform some of our favourite songs to a wonderful audeince. A truly lovely event which were proud to be part of.

Sunday 22nd May 2016 - Today we held two shows at The Freight House, Rochford where we had sold over 300 tickets. Two great audiences and a total of £2110 raised for two amazing charities - Essex Deaf Children's Society and The MegaCentre Rayleigh. Our thanks to Paul Newbury and Julie Sawford who came along to talk about how the money would help them. And out thanks, as always, to all who came along and supported this fantastic event.

Monday 18th April and 16th May 2016 - We were delighted at being able to hold 2 separate workshops at Plumberow School, Hockley for 2 separate year group. First, we performed "Tell The World" for them to show how music can be enjoyed through sign language. And then the classes were split into groups so that we could teach them 2 more songs - "History" and "Shut Up And Dance" before bringing them back together to perform as a choir and show us what they had learnt. Two fantastic sessions held with some truly lovely and enthusiastic groups of children.

Monday 1st February 2016 - Today 12 choir members had the pleasure of visiting the residents and staff of Charles Harper House in Basildon. It must be officially the smallest venue we have ever performed in (!!) but this didn't stop us and the audience enjoying our performance. And a lovely buffet provided afterwards - thank you!
